Kyutech celebrates the Look East Policy 40th anniversary with Malaysian alumni

Kyutech held “Look East Policy 40th Anniversary & Kyutech Meets the Alumni in Malaysia” Event on December 4th, 2022, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event was to celebrate the 4oth anniversary of the Look East Policy (LEP) which Malaysian government has introduced in 1982 to aim at social and economic development in Malaysia through learning from Japan. As many as more than 26,000 Malaysian youth have come to Japan for study and training and they have been playing an important role as a bridge to connect the two countries.

The event started with an opening remark by Prof. Dr. Tohru Kamiya, vice president for international affairs and welcome speech by Mr. Atsushi Karimata, the Minister of Embassy of Japan in Malaysia.

Among 57 participants, 6 alumni voluntarily presented their memories with Kyutech in Japan and what they currently do in Malaysia. During the 4 hour-long event, all participants enjoyed sharing information and ideas on how to collaborate with Kyutech and among alumni. The event ended with successful networking between Kyutech and Malaysian alumni.
