Kyutech professor and students receive the medal and the awards at IAC

At the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2019 held during 21st-25th October 2019 in Washington D.C., Prof. Dr. Mengu Cho (Department of Space Systems Engineering of Kyutech) received the 2019 Frank J. Malina Astronautics Medal, which is “presented annually to an educator who has demonstrated excellence in taking the fullest advantage of the resources available to them to promote the study of astronautics and related space sciences”, from the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).

Three of Kyutech international students, Mr. Mustapha Femi Ishola (from Nigeria), Mr. Izrael Zenar Casople Bautista (from Philippines), and Mr. Yasir Abbas (from Sudan) won the Emerging Space Leaders (ESL) awards, which selected only 25 students and young professionals from as many as 120 applicants, to participate in the IAF Emerging Space Leaders (ESL) Grant Programme.
