Prof. Edmund Soji Otabe of Kyutech was invited as a special guest speaker to the symposium "Japan Bangladesh Friendship Views Exchange on Quality Education" at New Government Degree College in Rajshahi City, Bangladesh.

This symposium, to which the mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation A. H. M. Khairuzzman Liton was also invited, was arranged for discussing the future prospect of Bangladesh quality education with Japanese universities.

Prof. Otabe gave a lecture entitled "The role of Japanese universities in national development", and a discussion was held on learning from the strength of Japanese university education system.
