Dependable Integrated Systems Research Center (DISC) of Kyutech and Moriwaka Co., Ltd. successfully completed a joint project (Primary Investigator: Assistant Professor Stefan Holst) and developed a system ("Smart Cane") for the measurement and analysis of the pressure and motion on canes used for walking rehabilitation. With its effectiveness being recognized in trial operations at multiple rehabilitation agencies, a smart cane prototype will be on display at the 19th Western Japan International Welfare Equipment & Devices Fair (West Japan General Exhibition Center, November 16 - 18, 2017).
