February 17-18 2024, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and Kyutech jointly organized the 2024 1st International Conference on Robotics, Engineering, Science, and Technology (RESTCON 2024) at Pataya, Thailand, which was the first joint conference co-organized by both universities to enhance academic collaboration.
After the opening remarks by Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Thanasupsin of KMUTNB as a hosting university and Prof. Dr. Yasunori Mitani, the President of Kyutech; Prof. Dr. Mengu Cho (Department of Space Systems Engineering ) , Prof. Dr. Teruhisa Ohno (Department of Materials Science), and Prof. Dr. Suwat Kuntanapreeda of KMUTNB gave their keynote lectures.
As many as 47 papers were submitted for the oral presentations including presentations by faculty members and graduate school students of Kyutech, and the Best Paper Award and the Best Presentation Award were granted. Total number of participants including committee members and audiences were around 110 which proved that the first joint conference was successful.
At the closing ceremony, Vice President for International Affairs of Kyutech, Prof. Dr Tohru Kamiya announced that the next RESTCON 2026 will be hosted by Kyutech in Japan.
RESTCON 2024 ended with great success to commemorate the 15th anniversary of KMUTNB-Kyutech partnership, the 65th anniversary of the establishment of KMUTNB, and the opening of the KMUTNB-Kyutech Collaboration Satellite Office.
