When attending classes of spring semester 2020

The outbreak of the novel corona virus infectious disease (COVID-19) is spreading all over the world and the situation is accelerating as WHO described it as “controllable pandemic”.
To respond to the situation, Kyutech requests all the students to be noted about the policy and follow the instructions below when attending classes of the spring semester 2020.
Kyutech will continue to send out accurate information by e-mail or on the University website, based on the changing situation.

1. For the students who got infected
In case that you are diagnosed with novel coronavirus infection, you are subject to suspension of attendance (permitted absence from classes) according to the Clause 19 of School Health and Safety Act.
Kyutech will provide such students with appropriate alternatives such as submission of report or e-learning, for the classes not attended due to suspension of attendance.

2. For the students with history of close contact with infected patient/the students entering Japan from the countries and regions subject to entry restrictions
If you are confirmed that you closely contacted with infected patients, or if you entered to Japan from the countries and regions subject to the refusal of entry/border control by Japanese government*, you are required to stay home for 2 weeks from the day of the last close contact/entering to Japan, as suspension of attendance according to the Clause 19 of School Health and Safety Act.
In case that a laboratory is closed or a class is cancelled due to the above situation, and students are suspended to attend classes, Kyutech will provide all the affected students with appropriate alternatives such as submission of report or e-learning, for the classes not attended due to suspension of attendance.
If you are confirmed by Public Health Center that you have closely contacted with infected patients, or if people who closely contact with you (e.g. family members) get infected, you are required to report to the University immediately.

3. Cautions when attending classes
When attending classes, be carefully noted the following to prevent spreading the novel coronavirus infection.
①Wear a mask
②Exercise cough etiquette
③Wash your hands/Sanitize your hands and fingers (Use hand sanitizer placed at the entrance of lecture rooms)
④Check your body temperature and confirm that you don’t have a fever before coming to the University

Even if the cases described in the item 1. or 2. above don't apply to you, in case that you have flu-like symptoms such as cough or fever of 37.5°C or higher, you are subject to suspension of attendance. (Without diagnosis of the novel coronavirus infection, the absence can be permitted according to the Clause 19 of School Health and Safety Act.) During the suspension, you are required to monitor your health at home with Health Monitoring Sheet.
