MSSC receives Kyutech’s Applied Chemistry students for seminar with UPM

Update:2019.02.26

From the 20th to the 25th of January 2019, a group consisting of 7 students and 4 faculty members from Department of Applied Chemistry of Kyutech visited Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The visit marks the start of the newly developed program called “From The Laboratory To Classroom” (FLTC). The 5 day program was carried out in Faculty of Science of UPM, during which a 2-day seminar was held. The seminar was attended by both UPM and Kyutech students and faculty members. The students presented their on-going research and engaged in Q & A sessions.

During the program, the students stayed in UPM's dormitory Kolej Tun Perak (KTP), and had a brief opportunity to experience Malaysian culture, food, and much more from UPM buddies of the dormitory. Kyutech students informed that they not only had great experience on the research sharing, but also realized the importance of understanding different cultures and communicating in English.

This newly developed short program is a trial initiative. It will be evaluated for its effectiveness and used to establish a baseline in providing useful experience for students and research at both universities with the collaboration of Department of Applied Chemistry of Kyutech and Faculty of Science of UPM.
