Ms. Keiko Matsuoka, the counselor for international students on Tobata Campus, was commended for her achievement in supporting international students on July 27, 2017, when the ordinary general meeting of Fukuoka Regional Council for the Promotion of International Student Exchange was convened on Ito Campus, Kyushu University. Fukuoka Regional Council for the Promotion of International Student Exchange makes honorable recognition of a person or an organization dedicated to promote international student exchange and support international students continuously.
Ms.Matsuoka has counseled international students for nearly 20 years. She not only counsels at campus once a week, but also, as a volunteer, goes with them to a doctor, a ward office, or Immigration Bureau. She sometimes supports them and their family at the time of medical admission or childbirth. Many of international students find a home in her support and able to concentrate on their study or research without worries about daily life.
